Diablo II may not be for the faint of heart. It is an action and adventure game developed by Blizzard Entertainment where you will be facing different fearsome demons in your quest to prevent evil from ruling the world.
Battle against evil
The game follows a storyline that is divided into 4 acts. In each one, you will be required to fulfill different missions that are usually composed of slaying lesser demons that are lurking in the area and cleansing of a corrupted soul. Such tasks are easier said than done. Diablo II is incredibly complex and the adventure that awaits you can be mind-numbing. There were a lot of times I found myself stuck in a level. Exploration and cleansing missions have the tendency to be too challenging that it is nearly impossible to clear them in a day. Being stumped usually is caused by powerful demons that are hard to defeat or being at a loss of what to do next after clearing a mission. The game’s setting is also usually set in vast fields or dark, narrow dungeons that are teeming with persistent demons. Although for all the complaints I have regarding the game’s difficulty, emerging victorious and clearing an act is extremely rewarding. All that hard work and strategizing pays off. Diablo II is a recommendable game to play but keep in mind that patience and hard work is required in order to pull off a successful gameplay.
In your fight against the demons, you are given the chance to choose which character you think would be most effective to fend monsters off and which suits you best. There are different classes to choose from, namely, Amazon, Barbarian, Necromancer, Sorceress, Paladin, Assassin, and Druid. Each of them has unique skills and assets. For instance, Amazon fighters are very skilled in using weapons like arrows and spears, which makes their offense remarkable. However, they fall short when it comes to defense. The opposite can be said for the Paladin, who excels more in defense rather than offense. It is up to you which character class you would like to choose. The game provides descriptions for each of them. Choose which character you think will put you at an advantage rather than going for the aesthetics, as most players tend to do so.
Impressive graphics and design
The game is enveloped with an ever-present ominous aura, which justifies its dark themes. Even the costume and character designs are well thought of. Enemies and monsters do look menacing rather than ridiculously unrealistic. The game’s effects also bring shine to the overall look of the game as you play. Performing powerful attacks and magic is actually a sight to see. Each detail of the game stands out despite its dark tones.
A dark and magical adventure
Diablo II is a game that does not disappoint. The adventures are challenging yet rewarding. It has high-quality graphics and engaging effects that will mesmerize you as you play.
